Inkscape
Vectors you run locally. Inkscape is GPL — Adobe Illustrator without the seat.
The problem
Adobe Illustrator is a Creative Cloud seat for SVG/PDF artwork. You wanted a vector editor whose files you own. Inkscape is GPL (official code on gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape; the GitHub mirror is stale). This is a workstation install. Penpot is the Figma-shaped collaborative board — /replace/figma — not an Illustrator clone.

This is a workstation install, not a hosted app. No one-click desktop template in this repo. Collaborative product design stays on /stacks/penpot-design.

Agent setup prompt
Replace Adobe Illustrator with Inkscape (https://inkscape.org). - Install from the official site (code lives on GitLab, not the stale GitHub mirror). Open one SVG you actually ship. - Do not claim every Illustrator plugin or Image Trace preset. Write AGENT_PROMPT.md. - Figma-shaped UI design stays on /stacks/penpot-design.
Also as markdown: /stacks/inkscape-vector.md
FAQ
- Why not Penpot?
- Penpot is boards, components, and prototypes (/replace/figma). Illustrator is vectors on a desktop. Inkscape is that job.
- Can I deploy this on Railway?
- No. Inkscape stays on the workstation.
