Memos / TriliumNext
Notes you host. Memos is MIT capture; TriliumNext is AGPL-3.0 notebooks. Joplin Server is personal-use — not the open-source path.
The problem
Evernote is a notebook in someone else's building. Memos (MIT) is a self-hosted timeline for Markdown notes. TriliumNext Notes is AGPL-3.0 if you need a hierarchical notebook. Joplin's apps are open source; Joplin Server is a personal-use license, not OSI open source — do not deploy it as the team vault.

Agent setup prompt
Replace Evernote with Memos (MIT, preferred) or TriliumNext (AGPL notebook). Do not install Joplin Server as the company sync — that license is personal-use, not open source. - Persist data on a volume. Bind HTTP to 0.0.0.0:$PORT. Import an Evernote export (ENEX) only if the project documents it. - Write AGENT_PROMPT.md.
Also as markdown: /stacks/memos-notes.md
FAQ
- Why not Joplin?
- Joplin apps are open source. Joplin Server is a personal-use license: non-commercial notes only. A studio should not run it. Memos or TriliumNext is the self-host path.
- Notes or a wiki?
- This page is capture and notebooks. /replace/notion and /replace/gitbook are the team wiki on Docmost / BookStack.
