Stacks / Sync
Radicale / Baïkal
Contacts and calendars you host. Radicale is GPL-3.0; Baïkal is GPL-3.0 — Google Contacts without the Google account as the vault.
The problem
Google Contacts lives in a Google account. You wanted CardDAV (and usually CalDAV) on a box you run. Radicale is GPL-3.0 (CalDAV + CardDAV). Baïkal is GPL-3.0 on sabre/dav. Xandikos is GPL-3.0 if you want CalDAV/CardDAV backed by Git. Nextcloud includes contacts if you already run that suite (/replace/google-drive). This is not Google's every People API, contact-sharing SKU, or Workspace directory. Clients are DAVx⁵ or the OS CardDAV stack — not a Google app clone.
